    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Difference Between Coroline and Onduline?

Both Coroline and Onduline sheets are manufactured from bitumen and can be used on the same type of projects. The main difference between the two roofing sheets is their thickness, weight, and price.

Whilst Coroline sheets are 2.6mm thick, Onduline is slightly thicker at 3mm. Onduline sheets are therefore more rigid and capable of withstanding more impact. As you may expect, Onduline is, therefore, 0.4kg/m2 heavier with a total weight of 3.3kg/m2.

Coroline sheets are slightly more affordable at between £10 - £12 each. Onduline sheets, on the other hand, will cost between £12 – £20 each. Despite the difference in price, both Coroline and Onduline sheets are guaranteed for 15 years.

How Do You Cut Coroline Sheets?

Thankfully, Coroline is incredibly simple to cut to length. First, carefully outline the cuts you need to make using a straight edge – perfect cutting is the key to a professional finish to your roof. All you need to cut Coroline sheets is a hand saw, but a circular saw can make the job easier. We’d recommend lubricating the blade and ensuring it’s nice and sharp before you begin. Don’t forget to wear appropriate protection while cutting Coroline, such as safety goggles, a dust mask and gloves.
