Shed Roofing

With little structural support, garden sheds and other timber buildings demand a lightweight roofing material that allows rain to run off with ease. This is essential in preventing bowing, collapse or other damage.
Despite weighing only 5kg each, the corrugated profile of Coroline sheets allows them to withstand high impact. This design also prevents a build-up of water, snow and other debris from placing excessive weight on your shed. 

Fitting Coroline roofing sheets onto a garden shed couldn’t be easier. Specially designed fixings ensure your sheets are anchored into place whilst a matching ridge and verge prevent water ingress at vulnerable areas of your roof.

Garage Roofing

Although garages are typically constructed from masonry, most feature a timber roof. It is therefore vital that you use a lightweight material that is able to protect the items stored within. 

At 2.6mm thick, corrugated Coroline sheets can handle the impact of falling debris from overhanging trees. Unlike metal, bitumen is also less susceptible to condensation that could drip onto the cherished belongings below.

Coroline roofing sheets can be easily fitted onto garages. Simply secure each sheet into place with a minimum of 20 fixings before using the purposely designed eaves fillers to prevent water ingress at the gutter.   

Stable Roofing

Alike sheds, horse stables are mostly constructed from timber and require a lightweight roofing material. This material must also absorb the sound of rain or hail to provide a comfortable environment for horses. 

Bitumen and cellulose fibres are great at absorbing and dissipating sound caused by rain or hail. Coroline sheets are, therefore, a great solution for horse stables or any other building housing animals.

Fitting Coroline sheets onto a horse stable is undisruptive and doesn’t require any power tools. This, therefore, minimises any stress caused to animals and relieves the need for temporary rehoming. 

Installing Coroline Roofing Sheets  

Ariel Plastics has designed Coroline sheets to be easy and quick to fit. This is demonstrated in their step-by-step installation guide, which has been shortened below to provide an overview of the process.

1. Prepare your roof by ensuring it is boarded with 18mm plywood that allows for sufficient penetration of the Coroline fixings. This is a good opportunity to check for any damp or rot if you don’t intend to replace the timber.
2. Determine the pitch of your roof, as this will decide the necessary end lap in future steps. Coroline roofing sheets require an end lap of 300mm on pitches below 10°, 200mm on pitched between 10-15°, and 175mm on pitches above 15°.
3. Layout your sheets, being sure to position them squarely with the eaves and verge. There should be overhand at both the eaves and verge but ensure this doesn’t exceed 70mm at the eaves.
4. Cut your sheets if necessary with a hand saw. To prevent damage to the sheets, lubricate the blade and ensure it is appropriately sharpened. Remember to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as glasses, a mask, and gloves.
5. Secure the sheets into place with the Coroline fixings. You should fix the sheets to the verge with fixings placed at 100mm centres. Then secure the sheets to the decking through the crown of the corrugation, where a fixing should be placed at every corrugation to the top and bottom of the sheet as well as every other corrugation in the middle course.
6. Install the ridge by using the pre-formed end lap grooves on the ridge to define the end lap. Place a Coroline fixing at every other corrugation to secure the ridge pieces into place.
